Delivering in the States Assembly
The role of the Connétable is vital to both the Parish and the States Assembly. Over the last four years, I have held a number of roles, including as Vice-Chair of the Public Accounts Committee, and as a member of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel, the Privileges and Procedures Committee, the Gender Pay Gap Review Panel, the Diversity Forum, and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
If re-elected, I promise to use my experience from the multiple Scrutiny Panels and Committees I have served on to work with all Members within the States Assembly to deliver for Parishioners and Islanders.
I will build on my previous successes within the States Assembly and:
- Deliver greater environmental protections for the Parish and the Island.
- Support and scrutinise the delivery of the Task Force to Improve Women's Safety.
- Continue to advocate for greater gender equality and equity within the Island.
- Improve quality of life and access to housing.
- Support and deliver improvements to road safety for all users.
- Fight for greater opportunities and support for Arts, Heritage and Culture in Jersey.
I will continue to defend the role of the Connétable and ensure that this position is maintained in a way that is responsive to the needs of contemporary Parish and Island life
Together, we can build a fairer, safer, greener, more accountable and more inclusive Island, and make St. Martin the best Parish to live in.
